[Living Life 7/1/2017] Numbers 22:1-14

Numbers 22:12  But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.”

Israelites rebelled God many times in the desert, but still God protected and defended them not because they deserve God’s blessing but because God decided to bless them.  SWIM asks, “Have you ever tried to earn God’s blessings through good works? How can you remind yourself that your standing before God does not depend on your performance but His faithfulness?” I have always fallen on this mistake to earn God’s blessings through my work and performance. It is too difficult for me to believe God’s unconditional love because once I believe it, I start abusing God’s unconditional love to use it as license to live carelessly. Right now, I have only two choices – either to live carelessly believing God’s unconditional love or to believe that I must obey Him to be blessed. I don’t know how I can control myself not to abuse God’s unconditional love.
